To New York's Irving Plaza Following Sold-Out Tour Opener Now On Itinerary
Volbeat has announced additional dates for the band's return to North America. The quartet has steadily risen to become one of the major attractions in the European scene, and the band's legend continues to grow here in the U.S. Volbeat's last visit to North America was a runaway success, with a majority of the headline appearances selling out. Prior, they appeared in arenas across North America joining Lamb of God as support on Metallica's 2009 tour.
Universal Republic released the Danish metal quartet's major label debut BEYOND HELL / ABOVE HEAVEN on December 14, 2010. Overseas, the album debuted at number one on the sales charts in Denmark, Finland and Sweden, and Top 10 in a half dozen additional countries. Cumulative album sales to date are approaching 300,000 units, and continue to show strong momentum.
REVOLVER Magazine placed BEYOND HELL / ABOVE HEAVEN at number 5 on their "20 Best Albums of '10." The periodical shared, "…Now four Danes have given us heavy music's latest, and perhaps unlikeliest, crossbreed in their fusion of latter day Metallica's power-groove and Elvis-style rockabilly, as heard on Volbeat's excellent fourth offering." ARTIST direct echoed these sentiments publishing, "Beyond Hell/Above Heaven is not only Volbeat's masterpiece to date, it's also a landmark record that elevates heavy music into new territory, brandishing soul, spirit, and singularity. Beyond Hell/Above Heaven is the only place to be…"
The band will return to the U.S. beginning the North American tour on March 23, 2011, at Irving Plaza in New York City, head coast to coast, and finish with a return to Irving Plaza in New York City on April 27. The tour opener sold-out quickly, instigating a decision to book a return engagement just a month later affording fans the opportunity to see Volbeat.
