Fences To Play South By Southwest, Announce Headlining Tour

Starting on February 15th, Seattle indie-rock band Fences will begin a headlining tour of the East Coast, bookended by stops in Chicago, IL, and Mission, TX. Following the Mission, TX show will be a stop at South By Southwest, where Fences will play at least one show a day from March 17th through March 19th. The band is currently finishing up their tour in support of Florida punk-rockers Against Me! For a full list of tour dates, please see below.

Fences, the stage-name for Christopher Mansfield's mellow and melancholic indie-rock music, recently released their eponymous debut album via Onto Entertainment in September, and have been touring throughout 2010 and 2011 in support of the album's release. Fences was produced by Sara Quin of Tegan and Sara fame. SPIN recently named Fences one of their 10 Best Albums You Might Have Missed in 2010, calling the album "sorrowful, self-deprecating, and charming pop-folk songs with catchy keyboard melodies and lyrics about squandered love."

Single "My Girl The Horse" was also named Song of the Day by NPR, which you read about and listen to here: http://www.npr.org/2010/11/18/131416789/fences-even-in-hope-forever-bummed

Recently, Fences did an interview with Best New Bands and The Dallas Observer, which you can read here http://bestnewbands.com/bands/item/973-the-music-to-mend-fences and herehttp://blogs.dallasobserver.com/dc9/2011/01/qa_christopher_mansfield_of_fe.php
