Justin Townes Earle Signs to Tour with the Decemberists

Breakthrough artist Justin Townes Earle will support recent Billboard chart-toppers The Decemberists on their April tour including stops in Atlanta, Columbus, and at New Orleans' historic Jazz Fest. The announcement follows an already landmark year for the young artist who recently completed a run of sold-out shows in the United Kingdom and made his network television debut on The Late Show with David Letterman. Earle's third full-length album Harlem River Blues debuted at #47 on the Billboard Top 200 chart and has received critical praise since. The Washington Post Express calls the album "exquisite," while The New York Times has given reference to Earle's "…elegant, heartbreaking country songs."

Harlem River Blues was recorded at the House of David studio in Nashville, TN, produced by Earle and Skylar Wilson, and features guest appearances from Jason Isbell, Bryn Davies (Patty Griffin, Guy Clark), Calexico's Paul Niehaus, and Old Crow Medicine Show's Ketch Secor.

Following his Bloodshot Records debut with the exceptional The Good Life in 2008, Earle has continued a steady climb with each additional year and record. In 2009, he released the critically acclaimed Midnight at the Movies, while simultaneously becoming known to the broader public eye for his inspiring live performances (especially on bigger stages in the likes of the Grand Ole Opry, Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival, and on "A Prairie Home Companion"). During that same year he won "Best New and Emerging Artist" at the 2009 Americana Music Awards and, in 2010, he was named one of "The 25 Most Stylish Men in the World" by GQ Magazine. Justin has also appeared on the HBO show Treme with his father - legendary musician Steve Earle - as well as the elder Earle's Grammy Award winning album Townes [a tribute album for Justin's middle namesake, Townes Van Zandt].
