Alexander Ebert, lead singer of Los Angeles group Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeros, has announced a handful of East Coast tour dates under the name Alexander and Fam. These are the first tour dates that Alexander has announced in the United States since his successful shows at SXSW earlier this year. The dates include a stop at New York City's Bowery Ballroom. The complete list of tour dates is below.
The shows are in support of Alexander's solo self-titled debut, which was released on March 1stthrough Community Music. Alexander received praise from the press, with Uncut noting that Alexander "carefully crafted the album to keep a good balance between a full sound layered with an array of instruments and vocals to simpler textures that showcase just one element of the music" and All Music Guide calling Alexander a "sunny, homemade-sounding record." Though every single sound on the 10-song Alexander album was written, performed, and recorded by Alexander himself, he will be touring with a full band that will help to flesh out these tunes in a live setting.
