Starfucker (STRFKR) have announced additional dates to their national tour, including their first stint of festival appearances at San Francisco's Outside Lands and Canada's Sled Island. The band has been selling out shows across North America, performing in support of their recently released sophomore album, Reptilians (Polyvinyl) with Norwegian label mates Casiokids, as well as Unknown Mortal Orchestra,Brahms, and We All Have Hooks For Hands.
They kicked off the coast to coast tour in early March stopping through Austin for several warmly receivedSXSW '11 performances and one not-so-warm night in jail, courtesy of the Austin police (read all about the band's arrest, Anti-Police Tirade and FREE RYAN T-shirts via Exclaim!). Brutality aside, they were noted as one of Spinner's Top 100 Acts at SXSW 2011 and Pitchfork said of their fantastic live performances,"Onstage, the members swap multiple instruments, providing a kinetic, anything-can-happen energy."
Charting in the Top 20 on the CMJ 200 charts for the last five weeks, the band is extremely excited to continue on the road the band will share all their special musings with us on their Tour blog. Check out the band's hilarious cross-country observations over at their Tour Diary post for self-titled Magazine!
