THE POSTELLES ANNOUNCE RECORD RELEASE TOUR

The Postelles' Record Release Tour will kick off on June 7th, coinciding with the release of their self-titled debut album on +1 Records, the indie label that introduced you to The Morning Benders and The Heavy. The headlining jaunt will begin with a two-night stand (June 7th & 8th) at the Mercury Lounge in the band's hometown of New York City. The Ambassadorswill be supporting the June 7th Mercury Lounge show as well as the Philadelphia and Washington, DC shows. On June 28thThe Postelles will play The Echo in Los Angeles withPanAm opening. The tour concludes at T.T. the Bear's Place in Boston on July 7th.See below for itinerary.

The record, co-produced by band and The Strokes' Albert Hammond, Jr., exudes a raw exuberance that places The Postelles in an ideological lineage that can be traced back to such 50's and early 60's icons as Buddy Holly and Sam Cooke and winds all the way through The Velvet Underground, the Ramones, Blondie and the Walkmen - artists with disparate sensibilities but a common allegiance to the unabashedly unadorned rock song.

Tracks from the album have already been widely licensed. "123 Stop" has been heard in the trailer for How Do You Know, which starred Reese Witherspoon, Paul Rudd, Owen Wilson and Jack Nicholson, while "White Night" was tapped by Fox's "Raising Hope" and the CW's "Vampire Diaries" and "90210." The video for"White Night" entered rotation at mtvU, MTV2 and Music Choice and was named "Video of the Day" by Fuse and Paper"Sleep on the Dance Floor," The Postelles' latest video, was directed by filmmaker Tracy Antonopoulos and recently premiered at NYLONA free audio download of "Sleep on the Dance Floor" is available for a limited time at www.thepostelles.com.
