If ever there was an appropriate title.. Warren Haynes Man in Motion Set for May Release

In October, Warren Haynes spoke with Relix regarding the recording sessions that yielded his forthcoming solo album, Haynes talks about the new release. The resulting disc_Man in Motion_ is now set for a May 10 release on Stax/Concord. The label is quite fitting, for as Haynes explained, "This is a record I've waited my whole life to make because soul music was my first love. Before I ever heard rock and roll music, I was listening to soul music. Before I picked up a guitar, I was singing—and everything I was singing was soul music." As we've reported, Haynes produced Man in Motion along with Gordie Johnson, and the album features appearances by George Porter Jr. on bass, Ivan Neville on keys, Neville's Dumpstaphunk bandmate Raymond Weber on drums, The Faces' Ian McLagan on a second keyboard, vocalist Ruthie Foster and Ron Holloway on sax. The Warren Haynes Band will kick off a tour at the Wanee Festival in April and then head to Australia for a series of dates before returning home.
