Outside Lands Adds Additional Artists

Another Planet Entertainment, Superfly Presents and Starr Hill Presents, in a partnership with the San Francisco Recreation and Park Department, are excited to announce that Esurance, the San Francisco-based car insurance company, has been named the official transportation partner for the 2011 Outside Lands Music & Arts Festival.

As the official transportation partner, Esurance will provide convenient shuttle buses and a bike valet to help attendees get to the festival each day. Esurance Shuttle riders will enjoy a quick and convenient ride from the easily accessible Bill Graham Civic Auditorium to the festival entrance. A three-day round trip ticket will cost $29.50 and these tickets will go on-sale on the website on Friday, June 24. For the bike valet, Esurance has worked with the SF Bike Coalition to create unique incentives for those that bike to the event.

"At Esurance, we promote the use of alternative methods of transportation in everyday life, and we extend that concept to the events we sponsor. We are excited to partner with Outside Lands to enhance their alternative transportation programs," said Darren Howard, Esurance's vice president of marketing. "Esurance strives to improve people's experience at the events we sponsor, which is why we are planning special incentives for festival attendees that take the Esurance Shuttle or use the Bike Valet at this year's Outside Lands."

Attendees that take the Esurance Shuttle or use the Bike Valet will be eligible to receive a select number of  giveaways including VIP upgrades, bike tire repair kits, and pre-loaded Clipper cards, which can be used on Muni, BART, AC Transit, VTA, SamTrans, Caltrain and Golden Gate Transit and Ferry.

"We're happy that Esurance has come on board to work with us this year," said Allen Scott of Another Planet Entertainment. "We want to work with our local community as much as possible and make this the best festival experience we can. And, of course, we want the festival's carbon footprint to be as small as possible. Esurance will help us achieve these goals."

Both Esurance and the festival organizers are working together to ensure that the festival prepare the most robust alternative transportation program it can. They would like the community to participate in these efforts and have created an email address for suggestions. If people have previously taken the shuttle buses or biked to Outside Lands and have suggestions on how to improve the experience, they can email them to sponsorships@esurance.com.

Outside Lands has also added five Bay-Area artists to its acclaimed lineup. These artists are: Eskmo, Kelley Stoltz, K.Flay, Arann Harris & The Farm Band and New Orleans Klezmer Allstars, whose founding member is from San Francisco.

Outside Lands Announces Artist Additions

Another Planet Entertainment, Superfly Presents and Starr Hill Presents, in a partnership with the San Francisco Recreation and Park Department, are proud to announce lineup additions for the fourth annual Outside Lands Music & Arts Festival. The festival will once again take place in San Francisco's historic Golden Gate Park August 12 - 14, 2011. The list of additions is below.

In its first three years, the Outside Lands Music & Arts Festival has diligently worked its way into becoming a welcomed and beloved tradition in its hometown, as it is now known throughout the country as the event that celebrates in grand style all the things that make the Bay Area one of the most desirable places to live and visit. Besides raising nearly $3,000,000 for the San Francisco Recreation and Park Department, the festival has set a new standard for live music in Northern California and the 2011 lineup is perhaps one of its most diverse and exciting to date.

The media response to Outside Lands has been fantastic. Rolling Stone credited the event for leveraging "San Francisco's food, wine, technology and activism cultures to give festival-goers a one-of-a-kind, world-class experience," while MTV.com called it "San Francisco-style bliss." The San Francisco Chronicle emphasized the festival's "eclectic program," while the San Jose Mercury News noted the "diverse thrills" that "make us look forward to Outside Lands 2011," and the SF Appeal said that "Outside Lands is the quintessential San Francisco music festival."

Outside Lands Festival Announces 2011 Lineup

The Outside Lands Music & Arts Festival is back,  set to again take place in San Francisco's historic Golden Gate Park August 12 - 14, 2011. Tickets will go on sale Thursday April 14 at 12 Noon PST via www.SFOutsidelands.com. A significant portion of every ticket sold will directly benefit San Francisco's Recreation and Park Department.

As in the past, major national headliners such as Muse, Phish, Arcade Fire, The Black Keys, MGMT, The Decemberists, Erykah Badu and the Warren Haynes Band will perform alongside the best emerging artists in the world, including Deadmau5, Girl Talk, Beirut, Sia, Josh Ritter & The Royal City Band, Best Coast, Phantogram, Junip, Little Dragon, Foster the People, The Joy Formidable and legends such as John Fogerty, The Original Meters, Big Audio Dynamite and Mavis Staples. The complete list of performers is below.

Outside Lands has partnered with Twitter, using their "Promoted Trend" platform, to exclusively give fans that follow "Ranger Dave" @SFOutsidelands early access to the lineup.

For all the work organizers put into its creative music programming, equal attention is paid to ensuring that the festival honors the significant role food and wine plays in the region's history and economy. The sheer diversity and quality of the top restaurants and world-famous wineries that Outside Lands has onsite is truly what separates it from every other music and arts event in America. Ticket holders have access to a feast through the festival's Taste of the Bay and Wine Lands where over 20 restaurants and 20 wineries gather. Outside Lands' food and wine options have drawn attention and praise from The San Francisco Chronicle for being more than "the typical hot dogs and fries served at most outdoor festivals" and for having a "serious wine contingent" as well as Food & Wine Magazine for its "talented lineup of chefs and winemakers."

With incomparable vision marrying food, wine and music in a fashion unlike any other festival in the country, Outside Lands has created a glorious atmosphere in one of the greatest parks in the world and, as a result, has become one of the most popular summer events in the country.
