Grace Potter & the Nocturnals have been chosen to headline the inaugural Bonnaroo Buzz Tour. Support acts include fellow Bonnaroo acts Futurebirds and Gary Clark Jr. The band, who proved their mettle as road warriors soon after forming at St Lawrence University, have kicked it up a notch following the release of their highly praised self-titled album last June. Powering through a nonstop run of sold-out North American tour dates and TV appearances, their kinetic, captivating performances have brought the band increasing momentum and critical acclaim from around the country.
The latest single "Paris (Ooh La La)" is quickly rising on the Hot AC charts, while a performance on Conan two weeks ago generated sales jumps of 26% on the album and 36% on the single. That appearance followed Grace's featured slot on Carson Daly's "Women Who Rock" week, along with Florence + the Machine and Lykke Li.
Coming up next will be an April concert as part of the Emmy-nominated music series Live From the Artists Den—filmed at sunset in Manhattan's Bryant Park—which will air repeatedly throughout the summer (check local listings or www.artistsden.com). A live performance of "Paris (Ooh La La)" is featured on the just-released digital album Live From the Artists Den: Season 3, also containing tracks from the likes of Elvis Costello, Robert Plant and Ray LaMontagne http://www.facebook.com/artistsden
GPN are not about to slow down now, with a full touring schedule stretching deep into 2011. They're headlining the first-ever Bonnaroo Buzz tour, presented by Stubhub! kicking off May 17 culminating on June 10 with the band's return to the Bonnaroo Festival, where they'll share the main stage with a stellar lineup that also includes The Decemberists, My Morning Jacket and Arcade Fire. Later this summer, Grace will perform solo with Stevie Wonder and Janelle Monáe at the Hollywood Bowl on July 24.
Upcoming GPN tour includes dates with the Avett Brothers and Ben Harper. More dates to be announced. (Festival performances are denoted with asterisks.)
